The Adventures of Septimus
In 1998, Joy had one more brush with TV puppetry. Along with writer William Thatcher, Septimus was about a gargoyle boy that came to life and could time travel. Unfortunately the BBC rejected the idea and Aglian TV although interested, it was never produced. We know of two puppets made for the test run, Septimus and Mistress Quercus. Whilst Septimus is with a private collector The Joy Laurey Archive hold Mistress Quercus within the collection along with a script for the second episode, story boards, photos of Septimus and a sketch of Mistress Quercus by Joy laurey with the name Pheobe next to her.
